"From Literal to Meaningful – How Does Your Voice Sound – In Poetry?"
We often hear the word rhythm in discussions about poetry and think about the musicality and quietness that poems embody. In this workshop, we will experience the playfulness and power of our voice in its poetic expression. We will visit poets who experimented with different uses of their voices and explore the meaning of voice. Participants will be able to share their writing in response to prompts given in class.
Afterwards, writers will be invited to participate in an additional
opportunity to prepare their work for a public reading at the Norton
Museum of Art. (Optional, not required. If interested, writers must take one or both classes to potentially participate in this public literary reading.)
